How can we end all human suffering?
Question from the Internet:
“Why don’t we end humanity to end all suffering?”
Well, as we look around us and read the news all over the world, we are working hard on this “solution”. Either directly through wars, socioeconomic collapse and destroying Nature, or indirectly, being desperately helpless to understand, let alone solve, our growing problems, we are approaching devastating self-destruction as we speak.
And as long as we continue to act blindly and instinctively, according to our inherent nature, this self-destruction will come in this or in the next generation.
Of course, we could end all suffering by identifying and accepting our inherently egocentric, subjective, individualistic and exploitative nature behind all problems. Suppose we understand that the human ego drives all of us behind excessive and reckless overconsumption and ruthless competition where we succeed at the expense of each other and Nature. In that case, we could start changing and further developing ourselves.
Naturally, this is against the agenda of our self-serving and self-justifying egos; it is always “easier” to blame, correct and destroy others.
But if we want a clean and effective solution — the only actual solution — then we have to find the problem within ourselves and start changing, adapting to Nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system that is the only template we can and should follow.
