How can we change the system?

Question from the Internet:

“If the system is wrong, why not change it?”

Yes, you are right. The system is wrong, and we will need to change it.

And if you look at human history, we have been trying to change, destroy and rebuild the human system through civilizations, governing, social and economic systems one after the other. And despite all those changes and recurring vicious cycles, we are still standing in failure, and we are inching ever closer to very realistic self-destruction.

So what is wrong?

What is this “system” that is wrong? What is human civilization?

It is the assembly of human beings, and their interconnections give the fabric of the system. The system is wrong because how human beings relate and connect to each other is wrong.

Based on our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and individualistic nature, we all aspire to control, manipulate and exploit others — regardless of what we say or even believe about ourselves.

Knowingly or unknowingly, we all succeed and benefit at the expense of others — even within our own families.

Thus if we truly want to change and repair the system, we would need to recognize how destructive and bad our human interconnections and interactions are. Only then can we start conscious, purposeful and methodical changes, rebuilding and repairing our human interconnections and interactions by changing ourselves and how we relate to others.

Only when each and every person — at least starting with a critical minority — accept that they all need to change and further develop themselves (instead of blaming, correcting or destroying others) only then will we see true and positive changes that also become sustainable.
