How can we care for others as we do care for ourselves?
Question from the Internet:
“What do you think will happen in our world when we respect human lives?”
It is obvious, that the world would become much better, we would build very different human societies if we respected, cared for the life of other human beings at least as much as we respect, care for our own.
But the problem is that instinctively we only care about ourselves, all our calculations, decisions, and actions are 100% egocentric and subjective, self-serving and self-justifying, whether we know it, acknowledge this or not.
So how could we come to “love another as oneself”, to care for others as much as we care for ourselves?
Only when we understand that those “others” are actually part of “ourselves”, when we not only understand but actually, tangibly feel that who “I am” is just an individual cell in Humanity’s single, living organism, which is also a fully integrated part in Nature’s integral system.
And that can be facilitated by the right, purposeful, and highly practical educational method.
