How can nations, states overcome the catastrophic of COVID 19 and other natural calamities in this globalized world?

This question is extremely important as our future depends on the answer!

As the individually, nationally independent, uncoordinated ad thus woefully inadequate reactions to the virus proved, as long as we try to approach global problems this way we will continue sleepwalking towards even greater calamities until we run into one that will completely destroy our lives.

It seems very clear and logical, that in a global world — where we have all become dependent on each other and are also mutually responsible for one another — we need global, positive, mutually responsible and mutually complementing interconnections, cooperation. In such an integral world even the greatest, strongest, wealthiest nations can’t survive, succeed on their own, especially not at the expense of one another like we try today.

The problem is that the necessary connections, compromises, making calculations for the wellbeing of the whole global collective is directly opposite to our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, fiercely individualistic, nationalistic program. Moreover, we already know also, that our egos, our individual and national identities cannot be suppressed or erased as such attempts awaken strong rebound reactions making everything even worse.

Thus we need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method that can teach us how to build the crucially necessary, mutually responsible and mutually complementing interconnections and cooperation above the remaining, inherent differences, and despite the also remaining instinctive distrust and animosity.

In short, since we are all sitting on the same — presently sinking — boat, individuals and nations can overcome this crisis and prevent new ones only together, working for the wellbeing, the success, and survival of the whole world.
