Global interdependence can lead to war — unless we change how we relate to each other
Question from the Internet:
“Does economic interdependence increase the risk of war?”
Yes, our increasing interdependence at all aspects of life can lead to war as long as we blindly follow our inherently self-serving, individualistic, nationalistic, egotistic “program".
In the globally integrated, interdependent world we evolved into, our instinctively “cancer-like" nature is a recipe for disaster.
We can now watch it “live” how our ego prevents us from fighting, solving global problems, how societies are breaking apart due to unsolvable differences, and how countries inevitably slide into conflicts, potential and real wars as they get succeeding, surviving at each other’s expense.
We will inevitably self-destruct even in this generation — due to multiple reasons — unless we start learning how to change our nature, in order to build completely different relationships between us, and by that building a safer, sustainable, peaceful and more equal world.
