Freedom is probably the most misunderstood and controversial concept of Humankind. In our modern age, the vast majority of people live freely, completely disconnected from others, seemingly able to do whatever they want. Are we happy? The growing depression, suicide, substance abuse figures (especially in the seemingly freest and developed countries) would suggest otherwise.
What is still difficult to compute, accept is the fact, that the greatest possible freedom is when one liberates oneself from the all-powerful, selfish ego that dictates everything in our life. Moreover, this liberation unfolds by subjugating ourselves towards others in a unique, purposeful, mutually supportive, mutually completing environment, when we dedicate ourselves to unconditionally, selflessly serve, love others.
In a completely paradoxical way through such willing, methodical “enslavement” to others we enter a dimension of consciousness and perception of reality that is completely unbounded by the usual egocentric, subjective limitations of time, space, and physical motion.
Through the desires, needs, and viewpoints of others, we become free to exist in realistically, tangibly eternal, infinite manner!
