For a true “social contract,” we all have to rise above ourselves!

My comment:
It would have been an important article if the writer had not used the “call for social contract” to promote a certain ideology and political direction.
This is the actual problem. We all want unity and a “social contract,” according to our viewpoint, to serve our own egocentric, subjective, and individualistic benefits and calculations.
It does not matter if such calls and aspirations come from the left or the right. We are all born with the same self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative nature.
This is why the true Jewish social contract, covenant, or mutual guarantee is something we have to learn and practice, as we have to build and keep this mutual guarantee above and against our inherent nature.
It also can’t be achieved by coercion, fearmongering, or misleading propaganda.
The true social contract, the actual mutual guarantee, works only when we all agree to it and participate in it willingly and consciously, fully understanding its necessity and its benefits for all of us.
This requires a gradual process and a special educational method that can help us understand that it is worthwhile going above our instinctively selfish, subjective, and individualistic thoughts and feelings as in a Nation that exists and functions “as one man with one heart” we all receive benefits and rewards that are impossible to obtain otherwise.
Moreover, this is something we are obligated to achieve according to nature’s single evolutionary force and plan, this is what we are “chosen for.”
