Existence through peace
Question from the Internet:
“How do we protect our peace?”
In order to protect our peace, we would need to achieve or build peace first.
Neither “inside” nor “outside” do we have any peace by default.
We are constantly in conflict and war since our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, and individualistic nature is driving us towards ruthless competition and to succeed at each other’s expense endlessly.
We can’t even define ourselves or measure who we are and where we are without comparing ourselves to others. And our self-esteem demands us to constantly try to elevate ourselves above others and prove that we are better, stronger, wealthier, more powerful, and more respected than everybody else.
And this works in us even if we are not aware of it or we do not openly act on it.
Our inherent human nature is the root cause of conflicts and wars.
If we want true peace — which is a notion of wholeness, diverse and seemingly incompatible, even contrasting elements, and notions mutually complementing each other — we will have to learn and practice that we are all individual pieces or cells of a single, mutually integrated and mutually cooperating living organism, that can survive only when all elements — individuals — find their most optimal contributory roles and functions and receive everything they need and deserve for the role in return.
Our future survival depends on consciously and purposefully learning this collective existence through “peace” — above and against our inherent nature — as without it we will inevitably self-destruct.
