Evolution is predetermined, our free choice is to learn our unique Human role in it
Question from the Internet:
“Do you think humans are evolving in the right path or do you think our descendants will be weaker than we are in several areas?”
This question presumes that Humans have independent evolution which we direct. And this is understandable, since this is how we have been considering Human development since we remember, a progress that is defined, controlled by us.
At the same time this is a subjective, typically egocentric Human illusion. Humanity is but a single species in Nature’s vast, closed, fully integrated system. We are born from this system, we have always been integral parts of the system and we keep evolving with this system.
And since evolution is a purposeful, deterministic process, how, towards what goal we are evolving is “set in stone", as is our unique Human role in the process and in the system in general.
Thus our free choice is not about determining how we are developing, what systems we need to create, invent. Our free choice is about how soon, what way we learn and become conscious about the predetermined developmental process and what our obligatory role in it is.
Our descendants will be stronger, more successful if we create the right education, upbringing, which can teach them — and ourselves of course — Nature’s evolution and how we need to adapt to it consciously, proactively, by our own efforts. Then we don’t have to wait for blows, intolerable suffering to shape, mould us against our will.
