Eternity through fear and love

Dreaming of Eternity

I think most people at least entertained the idea of “eternal life.” Most people would rather continue living than to die.

On the other hand, most people also know, that according to our present perception of reality, as long as we sense life through our temporary and fast fading biological bodies, as long as we remain locked within the coordinates of time, space and motion, we cannot have an eternal existence.

However, it does not mean that such an “eternal existence” is not possible, provided we couold attained a different, qualitatively higher perception of reality and could sense existence independent of the biological body and beyond the subjective restrictions of time, space and motion.

Forgetting About Ourselves

Even in our present lives we have moments when we feel such fear or love towards others that we temporarily forget about ourselves as if we did not exist.

When we fall in love, especially for the first time, our life and everything we do is completely consumed in the burning love we feel for another. All our thoughts and actions are aimed only towards the beloved and we forget about sleeping, eating, drinking and anything else that relates to our personal existence.

When a mother cares for her baby, especially when the baby is sick, the mother’s life totally dissolves into that fearful care, wanting to give everything possible to the baby so the baby would become better and healthy. Mothers can go on without eating or sleeping for days.

We can see similar states in the lives of people in posititions of great responsibility for others, when the lives or deaths of others depend on their actions.

In those moments of fear and love, time, space or motion and even the natural necessities assiciated with our physical lives are pushed into the background as if we transcended them.

Obviously, such states do not give us “truly eternal life,” or a sense of existence that is beyond this physical life. This way or that way the personal ego is still involved in that fear and love towards others.

Practicing “True Fear and Love”

Still, there is a unique method that can teach us how we can gradually develop a very intense and deep fear and love towards others, for the sake of others - even towards people with whom there is absolutely no self-centered and subjective motivation to care for them – which fear and love eventually gives us a true and sustainable sense of eternity.

We can develop a true, tangible and absolutely realistic state, where we totally forget about our own existence and we sense life only when we can selflessly and unconditionally care for and serve others with the motivation of absolute love.

Absolute love means a state when I focus on the desires and needs of another and I dissolve into the feelings of another so much, that my only yearning and motivation is to fulfill the necessities and desires of those others exactly how they want it, without any egocentric or subjective criticism and bias.

This is a love we do not have in us by birth. This is a love we have to learn and practice against and above our inherently egocentric, individualistic, self-serving and self-jusyifying nature.

Instead of the instinctive urges to succeed and prosper at the expense of others, first of all, we have to develop a unique and very disturbing fear of our own nature, by realizing how much damage we cause to others even with our thoughts and intentions.

This fear – when we are afraid that we might cause harm to others – already elevates us above our instinctive urges and aspirations.

Entering an Infinite and Eternal Dimension of Perception of Existence

This already gives us a “glimpse” into an infinite and eternal state of existence since this fear and the subsequent distancing from our own thoughts, aspirations and actions in order to avoid harming others already disconnects us from the original egocentric and subjective perception of reality which locks us into coordinates of time, space and motion.

These egocentric and subjective coordinates are necessary only when all our calculations are aimed at obtaining selfish pleasures and distancing ourselves from personal suffering.

This is still only a glimose, as if we were frozen or suspended between “heaven and earth,” already detached from sensing our usual egocentric, individualistic and subjective existence but not yet sensing and enjoying “truly Human life” through active love of others.

However, when we already managed to stabilize ourselves “outside of ourselves”, above and against our inherently selfish, exploitative and destructive desires, in such a purified form and manner, we can gradually “enter” the desires and feelings of others – like wading into water without making the smallest ripple, or a neurosurgeon carefully and lovingly attending to the brain during surgey – so we can perfectly sense and fulfill those desires of others and exist through their feelings and viewpints, gradually attaching to ourselves more and more such previously “external” vessels and tools of perception.

This is how we can gradually enter an infinite and eternal sense of existence, where our sense of our presently physical and egocentric existence is pushed so much into the background that we only faintly feel that we still exist in this physical world.

And when the biological body passes away, we seamlessly continue existing through the desires and viewpoints of others since our “point of observer” has already transferred to that new, loving and bestowing dimension of existence.

Method

This is something we can learn, practice and achieve right here and right now with the dedicated, practical and scientific method in the purposefully created and sustained human environment.
