Education to make our behavior shift for good

The Covid-19 pandemic has the potential to cause a real shift in Human behavior, but in order to make it sustained — and to not be a “blip” — we need to help ourselves with a unique, purposeful and practical educational method.

I think at this stage a necessary “minority” of people understand that in a global world, where we all depend on each other regardless of where we live, what we do, what we believe in, we need to build mutually responsible and mutually complementing connections, cooperation. Otherwise, we will never be able to solve our global problems, and we will not survive in Nature’s integral system where at present we act as a foreign body or cancer.

But since this new necessity of such connections is against our inherently egocentric, individualistic, and exploitative nature, this recognition will not “stick” unless we reinforce it with the right educational method.

Such a method needs to supply — apart from intellectual understanding — the more important emotional impressions, tastes of our interdependence and the confidence, the success we can achieve the moment we commit to connecting above instinctive rejection, use Nature’s “altruistic love” to neutralize, complement our instinctive distrust, animosity towards each other.

Then we will have the fuel, motivation to act against our instincts, upbringing, education without the need for coercion, misleading propaganda. As a result of the positive emotional impressions gained from the method, we will willingly choose altruism above egoism seeing its clear, tangible, realistic benefits.
