Do we see problems and different situations the same way?
Question from the Internet:
“Are all situations equally problematic, but only individuals differ in how problematic they see their situation?”
As you suggested, by default, we all view each and every situation from a 100% egocentric and subjective point of view.
This is so much so that situations that represent problems to some offer positive options and happiness to others. This is “perfect” for a world where we constantly and ruthlessly compete and succeed at each other’s expense.
At the same time, in the “real world,” we are all irrevocably and inevitably mutually integrated, and we all depend on each other. Moreover, even based on our limited and distorted worldview, we see global problems that threaten our existence on a global level, affecting all in the same way.
In order to fully comprehend and actually solve these problems and prevent new ones, we will need to develop a much improved, totally selfless, and thus objective perception of reality. Then we will see problems and opportunities the same way, especially as through that improved worldview, we will also see ourselves as mutually integrated parts of the same living organism, with the same purpose and aspiration towards the future.
