Do we have any freedom?!

Question from the Internet:

“What is the only true existential freedom humans have?”

The only true freedom we can achieve in existence — while living in a completely integrated, interdependent reality as defined by the laws of Nature — is freedom from our inherently self-serving, egocentric, subjective, and individualistic egos.

Regardless of our awareness or our agreement, we are integral parts of Nature’s system and practically we are like individual cells in Humanity’s single “body”.

But our unique human ego gives us a sense of independent individuality, it locks us into an illusory, subjective, and egocentric perception as if we were cut off the rest of reality, from others, forced to ruthlessly fight, compete for survival and success with others, forced to accumulate resources for ourselves above our necessity, when we do not even know what our necessities are since we are not sensing the system we exist in.

Nature’s evolution purposefully, intentionally placed us into this situation, purposefully organized human life in a way, that sooner or later we would reach a threatening threshold, where we would realize that by blindly, instinctively following our egos and the worldview it gives us we will self-destruct.

Today we stand at this recognition, we stand at the single most important turning point of human development. We can see that while we all make selfish, egocentric, subjective calculations, reactions, “solutions” we literally kill ourselves.

On the other hand, we also have the ability to practice “true mindfulness”, to use our unique human intellect for critical self-assessment, finding the root cause for all our historic and present-day problems within ourselves.

Then we can start participating in a unique, purposeful, and practical scientific method — based on nature’s laws that sustain the general homeostasis life depends on — which can help us liberate from the all-encompassing tyranny of the ego, and to harness, channel the awesome, irrepressible, motivating, driving power of this ego towards positive, constructive, mutually responsible and mutually complementing goals, purpose.

By embracing, developing a selfless, collective existence over, against the instinctive selfish, cancer-like existence we are born into, we can all rise to a qualitatively much higher, “Nature-like” collective Human existence with rewards, benefits we can’t even comprehend, dream about right now.
