Covid changed everything
Question from the Internet:
“How will the global pandemic change humanity, or will everything be the same as it was?”
think we can all see and experience that everything has changed since the pandemic and it is unlikely that we will return to where we were.
Long distance travel, tourism, hospitality business, overseas trade all suffered and still suffer. And the actual Covid infections still persist in most countries prompting precautions, mask wearing, etc. The banks started to stumble again and many geopolitical scenarios threaten with war and wars are already happening. Inflation os rising and oour socio-economic system all over the world is on the ropes. At the same time we do not even comprehend, let alone can solve our growing global problems that threaten our existence.
Is it all due to Covid? Of course not.
The Covid pandemic simply removed the minimal remaining maneuvering space and pushed us over the breaking point we would have reached sooner or later anyway.
The root problem is not the pandemic.
The root problem is that our human system – based on aimless and reckless quantitative growth, excessive overconsumption just for the sake of “infinite profit” and control over others, the ruthless mutually exclusive competition where we try succeeding at each other’s expense – is completely incompatible with the laws of nature.
We are inherently incompatible with nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system, where each element contributes to the wellbeing and optimal development of the whole, instead of the selfish and exploitative calculations and existence we live by.
Thus regardless of the global pandemic, we have to change.
Not because certain activitsts, politicians, kings and ministers or even priests say so, but because this is how nature’s strict, unchanging and unforgiving laws dictate. It does not matter what arbitrary and baseless ideology, philosophy or religion we try to follow and promote.
Our situation is very simple: unless we learn and understand nature’s fundamental laws that sustain the general balance and homeostasis that life depends on, and we willingly and purposefully adapt ourselves to these laws, we will not survive – regardless of what we think or believe in.
We are at unprecedented crossroads in human history, where we can decide the future survival of humanity. But our choice is narrow and simple: do we consciously and willingly adapt to nature or not?
