Covid-19: Redefining Necessities
The crisis we are finding ourselves right now is not simply a “medical crisis”, not even an “infection” that affects all of us.
Instead we have been in a “Human crisis” for a long time and the Coronavirus pandemic is just the newest chapter.
We are in a “Human crisis”, which means that we are stubbornly operating, propagating, spreading - like an infection or cancer - a Human system that is incompatible with Nature’s fully integrated, interdependent system.
We are extremely harmful both for ourselves and for the natural environment with the excessive, overproduction, overconsumption system that’s based on ruthless, exclusive competition, success, profit at the expense of everybody and everything regardless of the consequences.
Now the virus, and how we react to it will wipe most our excesses, all the obsolete production, consumption away, forcing us to scale down to a normal, modern, human, natural necessities and available resources based socio-economic system.
We will organically learn together what’s truly necessary and what’s not until we reach the right equilibrium, balance, compatibility with Nature’s system. We will know when we reached it when our recurring problems, crisis situations cease and we escape the constant danger of self-destruction.
Then, based on that balance we can start rebuilding our societies, exploring the activities, lifestyle we can develop whole constantly keeping that balance, homeostasis like any other closed, living, natural system.

Based on how every other part of the Natural system operates, most of the activities, structures above the necessities will relate to building, facilitating and strengthening the mutually responsible, mutually complementing interconnections between us, after all life, development depends on the reciprocal circulation, communication through those interconnections!
