Covid-19: Do we really go back to the previous life?!

Many people are thinking about the time after the pandemic, when the restrictions, the lockdown finished. Will we find ourselves in a different life?.

Perhaps even now, even if we could come out of the lockdown tomorrow we would feel that life has changed, and we can’t go back to how it used to be.

I think the most important question in relation to this if we actually want to go back to the life we used to live?

Now that we can spend more quality time with our families, when suddenly the daily pressure of the 24/7 rat race is off, when even the incessant media, marketing, entertainment bombarding is subdued and the natural environment started to recover around us we received a glimpse into a different life, lived according to modern, natural, Human necessities, available resources.

Suddenly that other life that’s based on excessive overproduction, overconsumption, where we produce and consume things we actually don’t need and throw away quickly, when we are torn away from our families, destroy Human connections and the natural environment for no logical reasons doesn’t look that attractive any longer.

We feel like people who suddenly got out of an abusive relationship they got used to, they thought was “normal”.

So even now we can ask the question from ourselves: do we want to go “back” (even if it was possible as we still don’t know the financial, economic effects of the pandemic), or we are ready to build a different life, a different society for ourselves based on different values and aspirations?!
