Can we use our inherent greed in a positive way?

Question from the Internet:

“How can humans use their greediness to their advantage?”

Yes, we can learn how to use our “greediness” to our collective advantage.

We are all born with an inherently 100% egocentric, subjective and insatiable desire for pleasures for ourselves. This ever-growing and irrepressible desire for pleasure drives us and gives us a sense of existence. If I do not have a constantly renewing yearning for something more or something new, I do not feel that I exist.

This is how we are built. Of course, this selfish desire for ever-growing pleasures can be stronger in some people, and it can be more apparent in some people, but at our core, we are all driven by the same desire; there is no difference between us.

By default, this driving force in us runs in a 100% self-serving, self-justifying way. Moreover, we actually receive extra pleasure by succeeding and surviving at the expense of others. It is not enough that I should get what I want. If I get what I want by taking it away from others, by others losing, it gives me the maximum pleasure.

This is the basis of everything we see in human society, both historically and also in our present society.

We already know that we cannot suppress or erase this selfish, all-consuming desire for pleasure in us. We already know that it is impossible actually to cure addiction. All we can do is redirect our insatiable desire and addiction to different, more acceptable objects and directions.

We have the ability to learn and practice how to use our all-powerful and all-encompassing desire for pleasures for the sake of others instead of constantly using it only for ourselves. How is it possible?

With the help of a unique, purposeful and practical educational method, we can learn and actually feel that the “others” I try to fulfil with my originally selfish desire for pleasures are actually not “others”. Instead, they are my own integral parts since we are all but individual cells of the same, fully and mutually integrated living organism — according to Nature’s viewpoint of reality.

And this is not some game or “make-believe”. Nature’s system is already showing us through multiple examples how mutually interconnected and interdependent we are. Most people already agree and know that we live in a global and integral world.

Thus the above-mentioned educational method simply helps us to accept and implement our true evolutionary conditions against the worldview of our introverted ego, which tries to make us believe that we are separated, independent and individual beings.

The moment we understand and viscerally feel that we are all parts of the same inevitably integrated organism, there is no more problem in using our inherent desires for each other’s sake since, in a Nature-like, mutually integrated system each and every part receives exactly what they need and deserve for their most optimal existence — as long as they also provide everything that is necessary for the most optimal existence of the whole.
