Can we take our fate into our own hands?

Question from the Internet:

“Everything bad that has happened throughout history all the way up to today, is it safe to say everything that has happened, whether good or bad, was meant to be?”

Yes. At least this is what unique, empirical natural scientists are saying, after studying human nature for millennia.

They claim, that until now human history has been a blind, instinctive affair, as we have all been driven by our instinctively self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and exploitative nature.

As a result — without any actual free choice — our behaviour is highly predictable, very simple actually when we apply the above mentioned human behavioural pattern to the whole of the species.

It is similar to how in Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” books psychohistory could predict the future flow of human progress by mathematical formulas.

In our generation, we already have a vast amount of experience with the helplessly recurring, vicious historic cycles and our own hapless stumble from crisis to crisis to see and humbly accept that we are not in control, but our selfish, exploitative, cancer-like egos control us.

The question really is, what is going to happen from now onwards?

And here we face a truly free choice for the first time in history. We can actually learn how to act above and against our instincts, we can learn how to follow Nature’s mutually integrated, mutually complementing blueprint, modus operandi instead of our own, destructive, cancer-like development.

Humanity is the only species in Nature that has the ability to take its own future development, and fate into its own hands. Do we have the desire, and wisdom to do so?
