Can we influence climate change by changing our behavior?
Question from the Internet:
“Why must behavior change to stop climate change?”
This is truly a multi-layered problem
As many points out, the climate might be “changing on its own”, we do not know how much our actions, behavior are contributing to it. At this stage when we are researching Nature we are barely scratching the surface, as we — with our behavior and actions — are totally incompatible with Nature’s finely balanced, fully integrated living system, where strict, unchanging, and unforgiving laws of Nature govern, sustain the general balance and homeostasis life depends on.
Human beings — with our inherently selfish, egoistic, insatiably overconsuming, and ruthlessly competitive nature — out outsiders, destroyers in Nature’s system. And with our cancer-like behavior — as we knowingly, unknowingly succeed, survive at the expense of each other and Nature — we are also destroying ourselves.
Thus we need to change our behavior and try to become compatible with Nature’s laws and life-flow, first of all, to understand the system we exist in. If we do not understand evolution’s flow, all the cause and effect processes that create and control the situation we find ourselves in, we can’t even diagnose the problems let alone solve them.
Only when we become Nature’s only insider but independent observers, partners — through acquiring a unique duality between our destructive, cancer-like original nature and a “Nature-like”, mutually integrated and mutually cooperating upgrade we achieve through the right education — will we understand how much we are causing, contributing to the problems in the Natural environment and also how we can change those processes or mitigate their effects.
But even on the lowest level, where we are right now, we can immediately understand that if we do not change our behavior, how we relate to each other and Nature, how we try to “solve” everything through our inherently selfish, subjective, and egoistic calculations, we will never find a true solution for the growing global problems that are now threatening our health and future survival.
Without changing our behavior, how we interconnect and cooperate we will simply not survive in Nature’s integrated and interdependent system since we are incompatible with nature’s laws.
