The idea of creating our own reality has been popularized in various ways, from self-help books to motivational talks. But when we dig deeper, we realize that we cannot create our own reality in the literal sense – especially not in what we consider “real life.”

Sure, we can alter our perceptions through means like drugs or virtual simulations, but these are temporary and ultimately lead us nowhere meaningful. The truth is, we can’t actually create reality; reality already exists, and we are simply participants within it. Our role isn’t to invent something new but to understand and interact with what is already there.

Our true task is to objectively and impartially comprehend the world around us. By doing so, we can find our optimal place and role within this grand, pre-existing structure. We live in a natural reality governed by a single, deterministic, and purposeful evolutionary force. This force shapes our existence within a lawful and predetermined framework, giving us the unique human ability to perceive ourselves as independent and autonomous beings.

This perception, however, is an illusion. We are not truly separate from the natural system or from other people. This false sense of independence and individualism allows us to observe and study the world from a seemingly objective standpoint, but it also leads us to build a distorted and unsustainable version of reality, as we are increasingly witnessing.

Recognizing that we live in a kind of “Matrix” – constructed by our misguided, self-centered, and individualistic nature – is the first step towards true growth. If we can cultivate a sincere desire to escape this Matrix and discover a path to a more authentic perception of reality, there exists a practical and purposeful method to help us do so.

Currently, we navigate life through an egocentric lens, driven by a desire to maximize pleasure and minimize pain. However, through the aforementioned method, we can gradually transform this approach. Instead of seeking to satisfy only our own needs, we can learn to live in a way that is aligned with the selfless and interconnected nature of reality itself.

In nature, every element – from inanimate objects to plants and animals – functions in harmony, contributing to the balance and sustainability of the whole. Human beings, however, have the unique capacity to consciously and proactively choose to participate in this natural order. By developing qualities that align with nature’s inherent altruism, we can move beyond our destructive, ego-driven tendencies.

This shift from selfishness to selflessness is not just an abstract idea; it is a tangible transformation that can be achieved through consistent effort and the right approach. As we begin to see the contrast between our original, self-centered nature and the altruistic qualities we can develop, we start to fulfill our unique human role within nature’s system.

Ultimately, this journey towards conscious cooperation with nature might feel like we are co-creating reality itself. By aligning with the natural laws that govern life, we become active participants in sustaining and nurturing the world around us. This is the true essence of what it means to “create your own reality.”
