Can we change the world through our actions?
Question from the Internet:
“How do you think people can change the world through their actions?”
While actions seemingly change things, what truly changes everything is the intention behind the actions.
We might be showing respect to another, and we might even be giving to another and supporting one in something, but if our intention does not match the action, if we do everything with our instinctively egocentric, self-serving, and self-justifying intentions, our actions will have only temporary effect and remain harmful in the long run.
We live in a world of actions, and we see that by doing certain actions we achieve anything. But the reality, in truth, is a world of forces, where the forces and the emotions behind the actions are the truly active elements.
The physical world we see is like the picture we see on the computer screen; it is simply an unchangeable end result. It is our desires and the intentions we place over the desires that lead to the physical reality we observe and experience. In effect, what we end up doing is already determined by the desires and intentions we are mostly unaware of, and it is the intention placed on our desires that will eventually determine what our actions are causing.
This is why we need to get used to a completely different kind of Human existence, where instead of focusing on the actions, we start to become aware and actively influence and control our intentions.
This conscious existence on the plane of intentions will be a truly Human life, moving away from the otherwise blind and instinctive existence that is based on actions.
Only by becoming aware and controlling our intentions and changing them from the instinctive selfish, egoistic and individualistic intentions to selfless, loving, and caring can we truly change the world.
