Can we build a just society?

“How do you develop a society so that more than just the elite matters?”

First of all, we have to understand that although we are all born with inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, subjective, and individualistic nature, our insatiable hunger for more, our willingness to sacrifice ourselves and others for what we want differs significantly from person to person.

As a result whatever we do, humanity, human society is always “rendered” according to a pyramid model, the most selfish, most egoistic, “all-conquering” people on top, while the more moderate, less selfish, and egoistic people lower and at the bottom.

This is similar in Nature as there are always higher, stronger, more controlling, governing parts, elements that are fewer in number, and the large majority that are fulfilling seemingly smaller, “lower” roles. Even in our biological body — another integrated, natural system — we have seemingly more important and less important, controlling and worker cells, organs.

There is a big difference between the natural systems and human society though. In human society, those at the top, shamelessly, unflinchingly exploit their position for selfish benefit, wealth, and power, while they mercilessly manipulate, exploit, use the “masses”.

In Nature, everything remains within the optimal boundaries of natural necessities, available resources, keeping Nature’s strict laws that sustain the general balance and homeostasis life depends on. What we find in Nature — and also in our biological body — the more powerful, seemingly important an element, organ, species is, the higher they are in the hierarchy, the more selflessly, unconditionally they serve the whole system, contributing to the above mentioned general balance and homeostasis.

In short, in order to develop a human society where not only the elite matters but everybody equally, we have to rebuild human connections and the fabric of human society on Nature’s balanced, integrated template.
