Can we become neutral and unemotional in this highly polarized world?
Question from the Internet:
“How can I be neutral and rational in this polarized world without being emotional?”
What you are aiming for is truly impossible for multiple reasons.
We cannot be “unemotional” since we are emotional beings. We exist and perceive reality through our emotions. When we get into contact with reality we receive emotional impressions. Our mind, our “personal computer,” is there to sort, catalog, and compute the emotional impressions and then build the picture of reality we interact with from them.
Moreover, we cannot become “neutral” whatever happens since our relation and approach to reality is 100% egocentric and subjective. We do not see and feel a reality “as it is.” We see a personal version — that is highly filtered and distorted — that fits our introverted “pleasure/pain” calculations.
This is the reason we exist in a polarized and seemingly chaotic world since each and every person exists and acts according to their own versions of reality. So we can never truly agree on anything or act in unison. We might make temporary connections and alliances as long as it serves our selfish interest, but such connections and alliances last only while the selfish interest dictates so.
So how can we cope with such a polarized world? How can we survive?
We all need to learn how to build positive, constructive, mutually responsible, mutually accepting, and mutually complementing interconnections and cooperation — above and against our inherent and instinctive nature and viewpoint.
We need to learn from Nature how to create a unique, “multi-cellular” humanity instead of the billions of self-serving and self-justifying cancer cells that exist in the world today.
We have to rise from the viewpoint of those single-cell organisms that can only feel and serve themselves to a collective consciousness level. We can develop such a unique collective consciousness with its composite, multi-angular, or “holographic” perception of reality, where we experience and perceive life through each other’s desires and viewpoints.
Then we will understand that all the cacophony, chaos, arguments, and conflicts are there only to serve the higher level unity and perfect, mutually complementing whole.
Then we will understand life and optimal development from that higher level of perception, which perception is also without the egocentric and subjective limitations of time or space.
This is something possible and extremely realistic through the right and purposeful method which is available to all of us here and now.
