Can set learn our lessons from a disease with relatively low mortality?!

First of all there is a lot of misinformation, misleading, contradicting data regarding the pandemic. There is a huge discrepancy between actual and probable numbers.
But for example WHO estimates overall morality rate at 3.4% according to different websites. And we know the huge differences between different countries in terms of infection and mortality figures, as some countries had mortality figures close to or even above 10% for months.
This uncertainty and the stubborn “staying power” of the virus partly justifies the seemingly draconian restrictions, although again what “restrictions”, “quarantine”, “lockdown” means it’s very different from country to country. Some level of travel, many sporting activities are ongoing even internationally, the mandatory mask wearing, social distancing is not upheld with the same seriousness everywhere.
Even more importantly this is not a disease, more like a symptom of a disease.
The pandemic is showing a brutally honest mirror to our modern Human society. While we are all fighting a global disease affecting everybody, we all fight if individually, nationally, most of the time only caring about ourselves ignoring others.
Even the attempts to build a vaccine became an exclusive race and profit making exercise, while the infection figures, treatment options became political tools, weapons. We can also see how sustaining the unsustainable, self-destructive overconsuming economy is more important to many than saving Human lives.
This is the most futile thing we can do, since our present Human system was already in perpetual crisis collapsing decades before the pandemic, the virus simply removed our ability to apply constant cosmetic surgery on a corpse.
But we are still oblivious and dreaming about returning to “life before”, pledging trillions of virtual dollars for “recovery”, to resuscitate the above mentioned corpse of a socioeconomic system that has no right to exist in a Natural system that is based on strict, unchanging laws we keep breaking.
In short it is not the disease with a relatively low mortality rate that shuts down the system. The system shut down long time ago, but instead of moving on and learning how to build a system that is compatible with Nature, we don’t want to learn the lessons Covid-19 provides.
And since Nature is a “ruthless judge” with iron laws, if we don’t learn from a disease with “low mortality”, we will have to go through problems, calamities with much more suffering so we understand what we have to do!
