Can AI produce art?

Question from the Internet:

“Do you think that artificial intelligence will ever replace artists’ work completely, or will they always need us (artists) around somehow?”

Most of what we consider “art” is based on emotions. We are attracted to “arts” that create unique emotional impressions and responses in us.

And “art” creates unique emotional impressions and reactions in us because artists are also emotional beings, expressing their human emotions through their art.

Moreover, we are primarily emotional beings; our intellect is an “auxiliary tool” to make sense of our emotions, to sort and catalog our emotions, and to prepare us for further emotional input.

Even if AI will ever achieve “independent” thinking, it will still lack emotional faculties. This is why AI can never replace emotional human beings, thus, it also cannot create “real art.”
