Becoming free — by serving others
Question from the Internet:
“Do we essentially live in an unfree world?”
We live in an “unfree” world on multiple levels.
Superficially we aren’t free, as we all exist in a “consumerist Matrix”, where we are all brainwashed through a very sophisticated media, marketing and entertainment propaganda machinery about what to wear, watch, listen to, buy, who to elect.
The propaganda machinery applied in Western societes - especially in the US - is much more sophisticated than the earlier Goebbels-Nazi, or Russian-Communist propaganda, as most people are totally unaware of being lead, manipulated to do everything in their lives, believing that they are free.
But on a deeper layer even those who seemingly lead the majority with their Matrix aren’t free, as they are - like everyone else - are lead and manipulated by their inherently egocentric, self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative nature.
But since they are the most egotistic, selfish of Human society, they are seemingly above others at the peak of the Human pyramid.
But in truth they are just as enslaved, acting like puppets in the “hands of their egos” as everybody else, reacting to evening blindly, through instincts, hormonal reactions.
If we want to be free, we need to liberate ourselves - through unique, purposeful, mutual help as nobody can free oneself from prison - from our egos, achieving the unprecedented ability to selflessly, unconditionally serve others.
Then through the desires, viewpoints of others we become truly free, existing in, perceiving a reality unbound by the original egocentric, subjective restrictions of time, space and physical motion.
