At the start of the “Human level” of development

Describing Human development without criticism

I often write about the recurring vicious cycles of Human history, how we become increasingly “inhumane” and destructive in each subsequent cycle. Many people take it as a criticism with hindsight, and I understand why they think so.

Perhaps I am not expressing myself properly, but I am not criticizing.

I am a scientist so I simply try to describe what happened, and in that respect we have indeed gone through recurring, vicious cycles, one civilization built on the ruins of the previous, only to repeat the same mistakes again.

Criticizing means that I assume we could have done anything differently. But we could not. Up to this point, we simply executed the instinctive program of our inherently egotistic nature blindly. In order to have blame, criticism one needs options to choose from. And only in our generation did this free choice open up.

Inhumane —Blindly Instinctive

Inhumane means our goals, values in society. The tipping point was — and I cannot say in what year, decade — when we started measuring Human life according to material wealth, material growth, according to productivity, efficiency, increasingly disregarding the actual Human beings and their connection with one another.

So we measure how we do by statistics, level of poverty, the standard of living, which are important regarding animate necessities, the survival of the biological bodies, but they are not related to us being Humans. Being Humans means learning to live above the animate instincts, above caring for the biological body, about amassing possessions, being Human is what we achieve, find within our Human interconnections against, above our instinctively distrusting, egocentric, subjective nature.

Approaching the Human level of evolution

Human is above the animal, a creature that can act above, against one’s instinctive self!

Only in our generation do we start to open a gap between our instinctive, animate, biological being and the potential Human being that exists on a higher level, especially as we have learned that remaining on the instinctive level we self-destruct — especially by using our so-called advanced technology, education, progress.

The more progressive we become instinctively, the more destructive we are, and only the “Human level” will be capable of balancing, neutralizing the destructive “animal” in us. Thus criticism, judgment, moreover “reward and punishment” from Nature’s evolution — that expects us to develop to the Human level of existence — starts only now.

So we need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method to learn how we can rise above our original, animate instincts and act against them as Humans, for the sake of others, for the sake of all instead of caring only about our own individual biological being.
