Are we getting more selfish or more selfless?

Question from the Internet:

“Are people getting more selfless as time goes by until there is no more space for selfishness in the future?”

Well, at the moment, what we can clearly observe in the world is that people are getting more and more selfish.

Human history is basically the chronicle of the ever-growing and ever-intensifying human ego that tries to consume everything and everybody for itself while exploiting everything and everybody possible.

Today’s society is the most selfish, narcissistic and individualistic in history, where even the classical family fell victim to the human ego.

On the other hand, we have evolved into a globally integrated and fully interdependent world where we can solve problems and survive only when we all become totally selfless, unconditionally serving others and the whole system.

Thus there is a huge and explosive paradox between our inherent human nature and the necessary evolutionary conditions that define our existence.

So we need a unique, purposeful and practical educational method that can teach us how to become more and more selfless, mutually responsible and mutually complementing — above and against our inherent nature.
