Are humans the stewards of Nature?
Question from the Internet:
“Why are humans called the stewards of nature? Are people doing their responsibilities as stewards of nature? Justify your answer.”
Humans are supposed to become the “stewards or guardians or partners” of Nature. So we should not judge this concept on the basis of how people behave today.
At the moment, we are the enemies of Nature, as we are still in a very undeveloped stage and form with respect to what we will have to become.
This is determined by Nature’s deterministic evolution and Nature’s lawful system, which has a very special and unparalleled role and purpose for humanity.
We will have to become the Natural system’s only fully conscious, seamlessly integrated, and at the same time independent observers and equal partners.
In order to achieve this seemingly paradoxical role — being integrated into Nature like all other elements and parts while also possessing independent consciousness and the ability to act freely — we had to be born totally opposite to Nature.
This is why we are 100% self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, subjective, and exploitative. This is why — as long as we blindly and instinctively follow our inherent nature — we act like cancer, consuming and destroying everything we can.
At the same time, we also received a unique ability and opportunity to recognize how harmful and cancer-like our inherent nature is and also to build a true desire and need to further develop and upgrade ourselves.
And when we learn how to harness Nature’s so far hidden and unfelt developmental forces to complement and further improve ourselves — acquiring a Nature-like, selfless, altruistic, and mutually complementing side opposite to our selfish and egoistic one — we become not only the stewards of Nature but its equal partners.
