A Nation of One Man with One Heart
An article in The Jerusalem Post:
My comment:
Indeed, we are One People, regardless of where Jews live and whether those living in the Diaspora have a realistic possibility of moving to Israel in the near future.
There is a single Nation of Israel whose home is the Land of Israel.
Jews living in the Diaspora need to feel that they still live in exile since their “home nations” cannot provide them with the right environment and inspiration that they need.
In truth, even Jews living in Israel right now should consider themselves “in exile” since we still haven’t finished our “spiritual exile.”
This means that we still haven’t rebuilt our Nation on its original foundation of “supernatural” — above the inherently selfish, egotistic, exploitative, and hateful human nature — unity and mutual guarantee.
This is the reason why the State of Israel is in constant turmoil and under attack from all sides, from outside and from inside.
We stubbornly try to follow the already failing — selfish, narcissistic, and self-destructive — methods and lifestyles of others and abandon the unique unity and mutual guarantee that could make us strong and could make us the only positive example to follow to the rest of humanity.
Only the original unity — we need to relearn and practice — can make us truly “One People,” and only then can we also secure our “right to exist” in our Homeland.
And when we show the necessary positive example — existing mutually together above and against the inherent human ego — others will also support and acknowledge us.
